Golf Outing Roundup

Well folks we did it again. The 5th. Annual Smoke N’ Guns Golf Outing was a tremendous success. According to the feedback I received from the participants it was the best one we have ever had. The weather was absolutely superb. We plan the event with extreme care but can’t predict the weather when planning so far in advance, however, the weather cooperated. We must be doing something right.

We started our day with coffee and donuts. The coffee was donated by Verona Dunkin Donuts and the Donuts were donated by Verona Giant Eagle. Bob Farmer’s “eye opener" bar featuring Bloody Mary’s was very successful. Kudos to our Chefs, Patsy Macioce and Randy Grossman for the outstanding job on the grills (Randy has four Super bowl Rings with the Steelers and Patsy has three). They whipped up Hot Sausage and Nathans hot dogs for the turn. Everyone had to try at lease one of each but most had two each. The main course consisted of a 17 oz. New York Strip, one pound baked potato and the best corn-on-the-cob you ever tasted. Ralph Palmeiri surprised us with a large container of his famous greens and beans. Great job Ralph. The food end of the event was smooth and well planned. The beer, pop, and ice cold water were plentiful. If you didn’t have a good time, it was your own fault.

Everyone that attended was awarded gifts. Many won considerably more. The auctions and raffles were successful, thanks to Sgt. Wright, US Army, who really put forth a tremendous effort selling the tickets. Our entire work team consisting of Carol, Kim, Duane, Kimmy, Franny (photos), and Marcello worked together exceptionally well to make the event a success.

Thanks to our Cigar Reps and Cigar companies that we deal with, we provided approximately 1600 cigars for this event. A very special thank you to Sam (Drew Estates), Chris (Oliva), Joe (Perdomo), John (San Latano, PDR, Kristoff, Sublime), Sam Leccia (Leccia Tobacco), Chris (Alec Bradley) who not only provided the cigars we smoked that day but also participated in the golf outing. I thank these guys from the bottom of my heart.

Being a Veteran myself, I’m very sympathetic towards the Wounded Warrior Project. We hope the proceeds will benefit a lot of the folks who really need it. It’s merely a drop in the bucket comparatively speaking for what is needed but we did our part and will continue to do so.

I would like to thank the following contributors who sent us so many items to help make this event so successful: Ashton, Altadis, General Cigar, Drew Estates, Alec Bradley, Oliva, Davidoff, Rocky Patel, Leccia Tobacco, San Latano, PDR, Kristoff, Sublime, Perdomo, Xikar, Aps, Nino Vasquez, Newman, Gurka, My Father.

Thank You,

Gregory Ionadi
